Goal Detail Page
A page for overviewing subgoal trees and details, and for retrospectives.
Last updated: 2026-10-15
What this page is for
The goal detail page is where you take a single goal as the starting point and view its sub-goal tree together with its detailed information (the ideal, KPI, resources, routines, memo).
How to open: On desktop, click the icon at the right end of each row on the goal page ("View goal details"). On mobile, open it from "Goal page" on the screen that opens when you press the row's "…". Press "Everyone's goals" in the "ToDos" heading on the goal page, and the whole organization's tree opens. You can also open it from a goal-name link in a notification or comment.

Goal detail page — the sub-goal tree and "details" come together
From top to bottom, it's made of these three parts.
① Header
There are display toggles at the top right.
- Show completed: Toggles whether completed goals are included in the tree. Right after turning it on, only today's completions show; you can widen it to "Last 7 days" or "All time" in the adjacent dropdown
- Show archived: Shows archived (let-go) goals
- Filter: Filter the tree by conditions such as assignee
Below that, the starting goal's name and the assignees' icons line up. From the ✦ ("Ask AI") on the right, you can hand this goal to AI ("Work on it" / "Brainstorm" / "Ask"; shown only for goals you can edit → Goal page).
② Sub-goal tree
The starting goal and everything under it are shown in a hierarchy. What you can do on each row is almost the same as on the goal page.
- Click the title: Edit in place
- Assignee avatar: Click it to open the assignee and members settings, where you can change the assignee on the spot (the same screen as "…" → "Assign / Members"). A dot on the avatar shows that goal's state (see "Status dots" below)
- Due-date display: Click to set or change the due date
- Open icon (desktop): Reopen this page with that row's goal as the starting point
- "…" menu: At the top are "Work on it with AI," "Brainstorm with AI," and "Ask" (only goals you can edit), plus goal operations in general — edit, add a child goal, add from template, complete, meeting, save as template, assignee, change parent goal, share, activity log, copy link, set up KPI, archive, delete
When you select multiple rows, the menu switches to one for operating on them all at once.
Status dots: A dot appears on the assignee's avatar only for goals that need attention.
| Dot | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Stalled (yellow) | This goal or one below it has no due date and no movement for 7 days |
| Overdue (red) | This goal or one below it is past its due date and not completed (or this goal itself is past its due date) |
③ "Details" section
Below the tree, the starting goal's detailed information is shown from top to bottom.
| Field | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| Ideal | The state once the goal is achieved. Example: "10 or more closed deals" |
| KPI | The numbers tied to this goal (tie them with "…" → "Set up KPI") |
| Resources | The material store for this goal (described later) |
| Routines | The routines that auto-add to this goal on a set rhythm (described later) |
| Memo | A free field for background, history, decisions, and so on. You can place text, images, and tables directly |
An MCP-connected AI reads the ideal and memo written here when it works on this goal.
From "Add widget" below the memo, you can add the following parts (only people who can edit).
| Widget | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| Completion ranking | Ranked by the number of goals completed in this goal over the past 7 days |
| Activity log | A history of what happened on this goal |
| KPI chart | The trend of the actual values of the tied KPIs |
| AI memory | The record of when AI worked on this goal (decisions, specs, findings, deliverables, progress, constraints) |
| Goal review | The AI reviews movement, gaps, and the next move and notifies you. Choose the pace from daily / every 2 days / weekly, etc. |
Resources (material store)
Files tied to a goal can be placed in the "Resources" field of "Details."
- From "+ Add," choose "Upload File" or "Create from Text" (turns pasted content directly into a file). Dragging and dropping a file onto the field also works
- The count appears next to the heading. When child goals also have resources, it shows "◯ items (◯ in descendant goals)," and you can open the child goals' resources all together from "◯ items in descendant goals"
- The list shows up to 5 items; open them all with "View all (◯ items)"
- Press "Open in Drive" ("Drive" on mobile) and the location of this goal's resources opens in Drive
Resources placed here inherit that goal's permissions as-is. You can find files from across the organization in Drive.
Routines
The "Routines" field in "Details" lists the routines set on this goal (settings that auto-add a template on a set rhythm), and you can check the next date. You can create a new one from "+ Add," and from each row's "…" you can Edit, Pause, Resume, or Delete schedule. Open the list on the templates page from "Open routine list" (→ Templates page).
AI memory
When an MCP-connected AI works on this goal, what it decided, what it made, and what it found out are recorded automatically. Even without a person writing it, the next AI or person can follow the history.
When something's off, choose "Retract" from the row's "…" and write a reason. A retracted record isn't deleted — it stays with its reason (you can check it via "Show retracted").
Archiving and restoring
To take a goal out of the tree without deleting it, use archive. Archived goals can be restored later.
- Archive: Row's "…" menu → "Archive" (on the goal page, "…" → "More actions" → "Archive"). If there are child goals, the children are archived together and hidden from the tree (the data isn't deleted)
- View archived goals: Turn on "Show archived" in the header, and they appear in the tree as faded, strikethrough rows
- Restore (un-archive): Press the restore button on the right of a shown archived row, and it returns to an active goal right away
Sub-goals
Hide goals you "won't do anymore" by archiving. "Show archived" → the restore button on the row brings them back anytime
Permissions (owner, editor, member)
When used as a team, each goal has three roles: owner (all operations; one person), editor (create/edit within), and member (view and comment). Set them from the row's "…" menu → "Assignee & members."
Visibility is also decided by this assignment, and a higher goal's permissions are inherited by everything beneath it. Details of each role, the setup steps with screenshots, and the thinking behind visibility are collected in Permissions and member management.
Meetings and AI minutes
From a goal row's "…" menu → "Meeting," you can immediately start a video call with that goal as the topic. Share the join link via "Copy link" and members can join in one click.
Pressing "Start creating minutes" during a call automatically keeps the AI minutes and transcript as resources of that goal. For how to start without choosing a goal, and turning in-person or Google Meet meetings into minutes, see Meetings and minutes.
Sharing a goal
Goals can be shared even with people outside your organization. Choose the right option from the tree row's "…" menu (on the goal page, "…" → "More actions").
- To share it with people outside the org → "Work on this goal with someone outside the org" (Beta; shown only to the owner): Create a share link to share this goal and everything under it with people outside the organization, without inviting them to the organization. You choose whether people who know the link get "View only" or "View and comment" (they can't edit the goal, and commenting requires signing in)
- To tell members inside the org where it is → "Copy link": Hand over the link in chat and so on
Note: Anyone who knows a share link created with "Work on this goal with someone outside the org" can view the contents. Check that it contains no confidential information before sharing.
